Chance to remember loved ones

Worcester Editorial 28th Nov, 2018   0

A MEMORIAL service to remember loved ones who have passed away over the past year will be held at Astwood Crematorium and Cemetery

The poignant ceremony on Tuesday (December 4) will be an opportunity for people from across Worcester to remember those they have lost this year.

Tickets are free, however numbers are limited to 100, so local residents are being encouraged to apply for tickets as soon as they can.

Iain Askew-Calvert, Worcester City Council bereavement services manager, said: “With festive celebrations round the corner, many people will be facing a very different Christmas from those they have known before, because of the loss of a loved one.

“Our memorial service is an opportunity for people to come together, share the experiencing of grieving for a loved one, and also celebrate that person’s life.”

The service, which starts at 2.45pm, will be led by the Rev Andy Todd, of St Stephen’s Church. People of all faiths are welcome.

After the service, light refreshments and mince pies will be available.
