CITY residents can take a step back in time and discover more about the site which became The Hive.
The venue has become one of the Worcestershire’s most iconic buildings since its opening in 2012 and the county’s Archive and Archaeology Service is getting set to host another archaeological tour of Europe’s first joint public and university library and history centre.
The tour will take place next Wednesday (November 6) from 2pm to 3.45pm.
The tour, on this occasion, will focus in and around The Hive, giving visitors the chance to discover how the site has changed over time, from a Roman street to Civil War defences and Victorian cattle market.
Coun Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for Communities, said: “The Hive lies over a fascinating variety of archaeological sites, which we were able to excavate before the building work took place.
“Whether you followed the dig at the time or not, this tour is a great chance to discover how the site changed over time and to see some of the objects people made and used here centuries ago.”
“This is a great chance to not only learn about, but also see and handle finds from The Hive excavations.
