A TEENAGER was ‘lucky to escape with cuts and bruises’ after four men violently attacked him in the city centre.

Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened on Angel Street last Thursday (September 18).

The 19-year-old victim, from Worcester, was walking down the street about 5am when four unknown men assaulted him in a seemingly unprovoked offence.

He received minor injuries to the face.

An 18-year-old from the city has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm but has been released on bail until Thursday, October 9, pending further enquiries.

PC Matt Digger said: “This was an unprovoked, cowardly attack by a group of men which could have resulted in significant injury for the victim.

“He was lucky to escape with mainly only cuts and bruises. If anyone recognises the two men in these pictures please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with further information on the incident can contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or by calling Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
