STAFF and residents at a Worcester care home threw a ‘royal party’ to celebrate HM The Queen’s 90th birthday.

Sanctuary Care’s Juniper House Residential Care Home hosted the party on Thursday (April 21), where the community were invited to enjoy live music from Glam Sparrow and a buffet to mark Her Majesty’s milestone birthday.

The home was decked in regal attire and the residents had made their own crowns, royal sceptres and tiaras, which they waved and wore with pride.

The event coincided with the 87th birthday of one of the home’s residents, Lynn Jones.

Cindy Hawkins, care home manager said: “It was a fantastic day with lots of music, dancing and smiles. Everyone had a brilliant time and really enjoyed themselves.

The St John’s care home will be hosting a free dementia support session from 6pm to 8pm next Thursday (May 5).
