AN ELDERLY woman from Hallow has celebrated her 100th birthday with a performance from Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society’s Youth Section (WODYS).
Ivy Ashwell recently reached the milestone at Park Heath retirement home in Hallow, where she enjoyed a selection of WODYS’ cabaret songs from shows including Grease, Matilda, Annie Get Your Gun and Fiddler On The Roof.
Joyce Walker, who was celebrating her 85th birthday, also joined in with the 14 WODYS members for a ‘jig and jive’.
The group have been visiting residential homes, hospices and WI groups across the city since December, to share their cabaret experience throughout the community.
