BACON, sausage and egg were all on offer as Worcestershire County Council helped dish out more than £1,000 to a worthwhile cause.
A fund-raising Big Breakfast was held at County Hall and raked in a total of £1,100 for the British Lung Foundation.
Council chief executive Clare Marchant donned catering whites to join the council’s catering team for the charity event, working alongside Aspens Services managing director John Roe and the chief financial officer at the council, Sean Pearce.
Staff at County Hall tucked into a variety of breakfasts which included American-style pancakes, fruit and yoghurt, full English breakfasts, porridge, Danish pastries, cereals, toast and bagels.
Ms Marchant said: “I thoroughly enjoyed serving breakfast for such a great cause.
“The support from the Aspens team as well as staff and members was fantastic and so encouraging. It was good to have a change of job for the morning and raise an incredible amount for charity.”
Mr Roe added: “It was great fun on the day and we had tremendous support from everyone at the county council.
“Our team served an all-day breakfast as we wanted to get as many people along as possible and the response was absolutely fantastic.
“We are really delighted the event has brought in so much money for such an important organisation.”
The Big Breakfast is a national fund-raising event organised by the British Lung Foundation, which helps support patients with lung disease, and their families, as well as carrying out research and campaigning work.
