Book reveals more about the 'Wonder of Worcester'

Worcester Editorial 9th Oct, 2020   0

THE launch of a book on the ‘Wonder of Worcester’ will take place at the Museum of Royal Worcester this weekend.

Local author Colin Millett will sign copies of his new book tomorrow (Saturday) from 11am to 2pm at the Severn Street venue.

The respected author has condensed his passion for the subject into an accessible history, richly illustrated with many objects from the museum’s collections.

Half of the money from the book goes to the Museum while Colin has agreed to donate all of the money raised from sales tomorrow (Saturday).

“For over fifty years, I have been fascinated by Worcester porcelain, and especially collecting it – when my wife has allowed,” he said.

Auctioneer and BBC Antiques Roadshow expert Will Farmer has written the foreword for the ‘Wonder of Worcester’ and is dropping by to say hello and chat at 11.30am.

“Colin is a collector whose passion for Worcester is palpable, knowledge exemplary, enthusiasm boundless and love endless,” Mr Farmer said.
