Blueberry’s plea for help

Worcester Editorial 18th Oct, 2017   0

THE Worcester branch of the RSPCA has launched a fund-raising appeal for a kitten in need of a life saving operation.

Blueberry, who is currently being cared for at the charity’s facility in Kempsey, has been diagnosed with a condition called Persistent Right Aortic Arch.

This is where Vascular ring anomalies occur when a congenital abnormality of the heart’s blood vessels result in the esophagus being compressed at the level of the base of the heart.

And as a result food is not moved properly through the esophagus and regurgitation then occurs.

The poorly kitten has been referred to a specialist in Bristol but the charity has been told the operation will cost £2,500 which Blueberry needs to save her life.

The charity is now hoping city residents will dig deep and donate whatever they can to save Blueberry’s life.

Writing on their Facebook page, the charity said: “We need to raise the funds in order to give her a chance.

“If you can spare anything towards the cost of her operation, no matter how small, donations will be very gratefully received by the Branch and of course, Blueberry.

“We know this is a massive amount, but we believe every animal deserves a chance at life. Please help us to help her.

“If more funds are raised or the planned operation does not take place due to unseen circumstances, funds raised will go towards helping other animals in our care.”
