CARING staff and students at Bishop Perowne CE College have donated an ‘egg-cellent’ 250 Easter eggs to Worcester Foodbank’s appeal.

Between February 27 and March 23, students from all year groups and staff showed their generous side by bringing in chocolate eggs to school for the foodbank, which the Lowesmoor lifeline will now distribute to families in time to be enjoyed over the Easter weekend.

The appeal was organised by the heads of the school’s houses – Karen Griffiths, Maria Long, Ana Maria Kalaj and Matthew Chauhan – who were delighted with the response from the students.

Matthew said: “There are many families in our local area who are struggling at the moment and have to rely on the foodbank. We’re delighted to have supported this invaluable service and help deliver some treats this Easter.”

Karen Griffiths added: “A massive thank you to everyone who donated an Easter egg – with a special mention to the students and staff from my house, Goodrich, who donated the most eggs out of our four school houses.

“It was great to see our school community pull together – the generosity and compassion shown by our students, their families and my colleagues never fails to surprise me.”
