Bird box decorating on offer at Crowngate

Rob George 18th Feb, 2019

CITY youngsters are being invited to get creative at Crowngate Shopping Centre, which will be hosting a hive of activity at its nature-themed kids’ club.

Crowngate will welcomed the city’s youngest visitors and their families to learn all about our feathered friends.

The centre’s Pod will be buzzing with fun-filled activities focused around birds and their habitat as well as lovely ladybirds on Thursday and Friday (February 21 and 22)

The free event will run from 11am until 4pm on both days, where little ones will be able to decorate their own ladybird boxes on Thursday, and the following day’s attendees can create colourful birdhouse creations, which they can take home.

There will be additional entertainment with storytelling sessions and an opportunity to pick up some top environmental tips on reducing waste, reusing items and recycling.

Centre manager Mike Lloyd, said: “The beauty of the event is they can take their ladybird boxes and birdhouses away with them, see what creatures inhabit the new home they’ve made and continue learning.”

The activity is suitable for children between the ages of three and nine-years-old.
