THE HIVE will go Under the Sea ready for National Bookstart Week.

Babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their families are all invited to take part in the sea-themed events, which began on Monday (June 6) and will run until Sunday (June 12) between 10am and 3pm every day.

Throughout the week children can play on The Hive beach, meet the friendly Bookstart Bear and join in the extra Rat-a-tat Tales storytelling sessions taking place each day, all free.

Janine Downes, library manager, said: “Our library team have pulled together an amazing programme of activities which we hope will really encourage mums, dads, grandparents and their little ones into the library.

“The aim of Bookstart Week is to inspire parents to read with their children every day, so come along to The Hive and have some fun at the same time. Only some of the activities need to be booked in advance as we are very keen that people just drop in as well.”

Local providers including The Creation Station Worcester, Baby Sensory, Dinky Dancers, Tiny Tots, Debutots, Yoga Wellbeing and Toddler Sense are also running special sessions within The Hive as part of the Bookstart Week programme.

Visit www.thehiveworcester.org/family-events, places are limited so booking in advance is advised.

The cost for each session is £1 per child.
