WORCESTER’S Barbourne Road has moved a step closer to reopening with resurfacing work set to begin today (Wednesday)
The main artery into Worcester from the north has been closed since last Wednesday (June 21) evening following a burst water main which flooded the carriageway.
Severn Trent engineers have been on site for most of the past seven days which has seen the main route into the city out of action to all forms of transport.
After the water supply was reconnected and the damaged road surface was removed, work to reinstate the road will now begin in earnest.
In a statement on social media on Monday, Worcestershire County Council’s highways team revealed the timetable of work.
“Road repairs ongoing at A38 Barbourne Road, Worcester – kerbing work continues tomorrow, with resurfacing on Wednesday and Thursday.
“Road likely to reopen on Friday morning after road markings are replaced – footways remain open.”
