UP-AND-COMING band Split Second are releasing their debut single ‘Ciao Bella’ next Friday, February 11.
Darcy Dines, 14 (bass guitar) and Levi Husbands, 15 (lead guitar) are from Bromsgrove and Jack Barnett, 14 (drums) and Hannah Bowen, 15 (vocals) are both from Worcester.
The four members – who all started playing around eight years old – met at the Music Academy Midlands school run by Ryan Cush.
They have been performing regularly at festivals and fairs since the lockdown was lifted last summer and became well-known around Worcestershire having after being spotted by the Woofest Music Festival whilst busking on the streets of Worcester.
They were tracked down via a Facebook campaign in a quest to get them on the bill.
Since then they have performed at a number of events including the Green Fair, the Blackwell Music Festival and the Worcester Victorian Fayre.
‘Ciao Bella’ was written by Levi 18 months ago during lockdown and the band have now finally got into the studio to record it and get it out there.
Levi said: “It’s a love story, or rather a breakup story, where the person singing isn’t getting a response from their partner, time’s moving on and they’re left in limbo.”
To celebrate the release of the single, Split Second will be holding a launch party at The Marrs Bar in Worcester where they will be performing a full set.

‘Ciao Bella’ will be available for download from iTunes, Spotify and other music platforms from February 11.
