Artwork to shine at Light Night

Worcester Editorial 16th Jan, 2020   0

AN IMAGINATIVE piece of artwork by University of Worcester students as part of Light Night Worcester will be on show at the University’s Art House during the festival.

First year students studying BA Hons Creative Media at the university have produced a series of headshots lit in different ways to provoke an emotion or feeling in the viewer.

Rage, fear, love and more all play a part in this multi-projection-based installation, titled Creative Media Connections, which can be viewed at the Art House tonight (Thursday) from 5.30pm to 10pm.

The students have also entered the world of augmented reality, producing a range of facial replacement filters inspired by social media.

David Broster, head of the school of arts at the university said: “Having the opportunity to respond to live briefs is one of the best ways to learn about working to a brief and communicating with a client, with the added pressure of a deadline.

“The installation the students have created is really interesting and I hope people will venture over to the Art House during Light Night Worcester to experience their work.”
