POLICE are searching for a black car driver in connection with a sexual assault on a 19-year-old woman in Worcester.

On Saturday (December 12), the woman got into the vehicle on Hylton Road at about 1am.

The car then went down New Road, Bromwich Road and Bromwich Lane to the rear of Sainsbury’s supermarket where the victim was sexually assaulted.

She got out of the vehicle and walked through an alleyway from the supermarket car park about 2.15am.

The offender is described as black, aged between 20 and 30, of medium build and with short hair.

Det Sgt David Hall said: “We would like to reassure the public that this is believed to be an isolated incident.

“I would urge anyone who saw a car matching that description in the area around that time to please contact us. Any information could be vital to this investigation, no matter how small you might think it is.

“If you want to remain anonymous then you also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
