Appeal for information over Norton death

OFFICERS investigating the death of a 63-year-old man following an attack in Norton have appealed for witnesses to come forward

West Mercia Police want more information to further establish the circumstances around the incident which led to Robert Sampson’s death.

The incident happened on Crookbarrow Road, Norton at about 11pm on November 16

Daryl Sampson, 28, of Broomhall Cottages has since been charged with murder and remains in custody.




He is due to appear at Worcester Crown Court on December 21

Det Insp Paul Hardman said: “The attack on Robert happened in the open, on a public street, so we know that many people will have been walking or driving past around the time it happened.


“Although a man has now been charged in relation to the incident, we’re still keen to talk to anyone who can help us establish the surrounding circumstances.

“Please do get in touch with any information – even the smallest detail could prove to be significant.”
