AN AMBULANCE charity has welcomed thousands of visitors to its Open Day which has helped raise £4,000 towards its services.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity opened their doors to the public on Saturday (September 5), and offered ambulance tours, the chance to meet their crew and see the helicopter take off and land at their Strensham Airbase.

The 2,000 people who attended also had the opportunity to enjoy a bouncy castle, police car rides and to see a range of displays from the rest of the emergency services and the charity’s partners.

Jason Levy, fund-raising and marketing director for the charity, said: ““Our annual open day is a fantastic opportunity for the general public to see our air ambulances and talk to our aircrew.

“It’s also our chance to say thank you to our supporters and volunteers for keeping our life saving service operational.

“On behalf of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, I would like to thank everyone who attended the Open Day, helping us to raise nearly £4,000.

“With no Government or National Lottery funding, the money raised from events like our Open Day will fund future life saving missions.”
