EMPLOYEES from a city based power company have laced up their trainers to raise £1,500 for a charity close to their hearts.
More than 40 staff members from npower’s Worcester office completed a 5K Fun Run in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Wednesday (September 23).
Several of the fund-raisers completed their challenge in fancy-dress costumes, including Adam Stokes, who took part in the race as Zippy and won a prize for raising the most money out of all the entries, reaching an impressive £281.
He said: “The charity is close to my heart having lost my Nan a few years ago to cancer.
“Most of us know someone who has, or has lost someone to cancer and this is a way of making a personal impact on future treatments and care”.
