Varied programme for music fans at Mello

Worcester Editorial 18th May, 2017   0

MUSIC lovers across Worcestershire are being invited to the annual celebration of indie, folk, jazz and dance for all the family.

The popular Mello festival is once again taking place from next Friday (May 26) to Sunday, May 28 with a ‘big chilled festival for all the family’ at Throckmorton Airfield.

Appealing to music lovers of all ages, organisers feel they have spotted a gap in the Worcestershire market for a large scale festival that champions ‘real’ music.

“We’re delighted to be holding it at the iconic Throckmorton Airfield and intend to take into account the historical values it holds when producing the festival,” the organisers said.

“It really is an exciting project are we’re delighted to be able to announce our 2017 acts playing over the three stages.”

Among those taking to the stage are Hawkwind, Lucy Spraggan, Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Dreadzone, Bez from the Happy Mondays, Republica, Space, Altered Images, Johnny Hates Jazz, The Alarm, Rozalla, Urban Cookie Collective and the Electric Swing Circus.

Further big names will be revealed closer to the time and tickets have now been released for the event with kids and under 12’s admitted free.
