Top tribute to John Denver

BRITAIN’S premier musical tribute to country music legend John Denver is coming to Worcester.

Celebrated tribute act Wayne Denton will take the audience on a journey through the musical career of one of the most prolific artists of the 20th century at the Swan Theatre this Friday (May 26).

Denver was just 53-years-old when his twin-engine plane plunged into the sea off the California coast, robbing the world of one of the greatest writers and performers ever to grace the stage with just a microphone and guitar.

While most know some of his wonderful uplifting music, few know the full extent of his humanitarian activities that encompassed ending hunger, supporting human rights and creating a healthy, sustainable environment.

Now Wayne Denton is reviving the great man’s music, transporting the audience back to a time of innocence and fun in a show that features all the popular hits, such as Annie’s Song, Leaving on a Jet Plane, Rocky Mountain High and Take Me Home Country Roads.

Throughout his career, John Denver racked up an impressive 41 albums and a whole host of prestigious awards, including two Grammy Awards and two Country Music Association Awards, as well as a staggering NASA Public Service Medal.

Releasing more than 300 songs and penning some of American folk rock’s most memorable hits, Denver is a true musical legend.

Wayne’s show will lift the hearts of all music lovers, so come along to what is sure to be a memorable night of country classics.

The event starts at 7.30pm and costs £17.50.
