History
Worcester City’s history began the day it was formed, on the 9th of September 1902, when a local side ( Berwick Rangers) got liquidated. It was then Worcester Rangers amalgamated and changed to the current name of Worcester City F.C., taking over the fixtures of Berwick in the Birmingham & District League.
Pitchcroft was where they initially played on an enclosed area called Severn Terrace before the start of the 1905 season. During the 1905 season, they played in the F.A. Cup; they lost to Watford at home.
They won the League in the 1924/1925 season for the first time, and they reached the F.A. Cup first round the second time, where they lost to Kettering Town. The club won the League consecutively in the 1928/12929 and 1929/1930 seasons.
Worcester City has played in several competitions and reached the F.A. Cup quarter-finals. Fast forward to the 2016/2017 season, when they resigned from the National League North at the end of the season, and the F.A. decided that they would be relegated to the Midland League due to some financial issues.
New Stadium
Worcester City planned to have a new Stadium dating back to 2013, the Nunnery Way. So since then, the Club supporter’s tabled the plans for a multi-use sporting facility on land that the Perdiswell Sports Center occupied. The Stadium was designed to be a modest type which is capacity is over 4,000 and was planned to have terrace stands to hold 130 and 500 seats.
After the planning and actions were taking place, it was later announced in late 2019 that City would run to Worcester to kick-start the 2020/2021 season and play at the Worcestershire F.A. headquarters at Claines Lane.
