MEMBERS of the 2nd Evesham Scout Group hope to raise some laughs and cash with an evening to put Evesham on the comedy map.

With the help of local drama group, Phoenix Theatre Group, the scouts have organised an evening on Friday, June 21 at 8pm which will see nine comedians take to the stage in a bid to have audiences roaring with laughter.

Those that can raise a laugh and will be in the running to be crowned the winner of Evesham’s Comedy Competition – ‘It’s a Cracker 2013’

Genial host and MC Wil Mars will guide the evening of fun and laughter, made up from comedians from across the country.

Wil is one of the comedy circuits favourites and his taking his own show to the popular Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.

Organiser Keith Norledge said: “We’ve managed to get a great line up together for this competition. Most of the comedians have won various comedy festival competitions around the country and I anticipate the standard will be very high.

“We had well over 100 applications for places and after several days of deliberation I think we’ve come up with a quality line up.

“The great thing about the evening, apart from raising needed funds for a local scout group, is that the audience will decide on who wins at the end of the night!”

Tickets for the evening are on sale for £10 and available from The Almonry in Merstow Green, online at www.eveshamartscentre.co.uk or by calling Keith Norledge on 07773 337108.
