Offering sounds of Christmas

Worcester Editorial 26th Nov, 2019   0

ONE OF the UK’s most popular violinists, English Symphony Orchestra leader Zoe Beyers directs a concert featuring seasonal favourites and evergreen works of the string orchestra repertoire by Corelli, Bach, Warlock and Vaughan Williams.

Beyers shares soloist duties with the acclaimed young British oboe virtuoso, James Turnbull for Christmas at Huntingdon Hall on Saturday, December 14 from 7.30pm.

Since her appointment as ESO leader in 2017, violinist Beyers has quickly established herself as a critical and audience favourite.

She started her professional life as sub-principal First Violin in the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and for the last eight years she’s been the Associate Leader of the CBSO and guest leader of the BBC Philharmonic, BBC Symphony and Philharmonia orchestras.

Classical music fans will enjoy Vaughan Williams Fantasia on Greensleeves, Corelli’s Christmas Concerto, Bach’s Concerto for Violin and Oboe Warlock from the Capriol Suite on the night.
