Motown magic to bring the soul to Worcester

A TWO-hour extravaganza of all the favourite Motown and soul hits is coming to The Swan Theatre in Worcester later this month.

Motown Magic is a six-piece live band providing a show packed full of energy and fun showcasing the greats from music’s glory days of the ’60s and ’70s.

Motown’s greatest stars come alive on stage with fantastic tracks from the likes of Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes and countless others.

Formed in 2001, the band consists of Michael Brooks and Natalie Knight on lead vocals, Ashley Blake on keys and backing vocals, Bob Southall on tenor sax, and Matt Spall on drums.

Leading male Michael began his professional career when he joined forces with a fellow college member and created the duo Two in Harmony, enjoying great success performing in and around the Midlands before joining Masquerade, a Carpenters tribute show, in 1998, which was the beginning of a partnership with Motown Magic’s musical director, Ashley Blake.

Michael’s opposite Natalie, who trained at the Royal Academy of Music, is no stranger to such prestigious venues as the Royal Albert Hall, having toured with Elton John as one of his backing singers.

Now in their 13th year together, Motown Magic not only has the experience of playing a diverse array of venues and events nationally, but has also built a camaraderie on stage that shows through in every performance.

Don’t miss what promises to be a toe-tapping party with this great band.

The show takes place on Saturday, June 21 at 8pm. Tickets cost £18.50 and are available from the box office on 01905 611427.
