Djalili set to bring the laughs to Huntingdon Hall

MULTI award winning comic and actor Omid Djalili brings his brand new show to Huntingdon Hall in Worcester next month.

Following a sell-out four week West-End residency and a sold-out season at the Edinburgh Festival, Djalili is back on tour this autumn with his latest show, Iranalamadingdong with a visit to the city set for Saturday, September 27 at 8pm.

The new show sees Omid discussing themes of overcoming your fears, relationships, the perils of celebrity and getting older.

The British-born Iranian comic and actor’s legendary performances on stage and screen have earned him plaudits the world over.

Credits include Fagin in the West End smash-hit Oliver!, Dr Rance in Joe Orton’s What The Butler Saw, and Mahmud Nasir in The Infidel, for which Omid received the Best Actor award at the Turin Film Festival (won the previous year by Bill Murray).

The Infidel also picked up a Loaded LAFTA award for Funniest Film and Omid was short listed for the Peter Sellers Award at the London Evening Standard British Film Awards.

A firm favourite at the Edinburgh Festival for his legendary performances, last year Omid starred in a new stage play of The Shawshank Redemption. He played the character of Red, who was played by Morgan Freeman in the 1994 film version, to critical acclaim. The Times described his role as a “solid nuanced performance, (Omid) creates a full hearted character to stand alongside any”.

Omid’s stand-up awards include both the Time Out Award and EMMA Award for Best Stand Up, and he has been nominated for a South Bank Award and a Perrier Award. Don’t miss this new engaging and insightful show from one of the most joyfully smart, stimulating and entertaining comedians this country has.

The show is suitable for ages 16 plus.

Tickets cost £23 and are available from the box office on 01905 611427.
