University of Worcester up for fourth uni of the year accolade at the social mobility awards

IT’S officially onwards and upwards for those who attend the University of Worcester.

It has been shortlisted for University of the Year at the UK Social Mobility Awards for a fourth time.

The prestigious national awards recognise organisations that are making a measurable difference in improving social mobility across the UK.

The university’s latest shortlisting reflects its long-standing commitment to creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds and supporting students to succeed in higher education and beyond.




The university has built a national reputation for transforming lives through education, with more than half of its students being the first in their family to attend university and 97 per cent coming from state schools.

Professor David Green, the university’s vice chancellor and chief executive, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for a record fourth time for University of the Year at the UK Social Mobility Awards.
