Appeal to identify man following non-suspicious death in Worcester

POLICE are appealing for help to identify a man who has died following “a suspected medical episode” in Worcester.

The man was found by an off duty officer, on a bench on Grand Stand Road near to Worcester Canoe Club and the River Severn at around 7.45am on Wednesday (March 11).

Despite best efforts from medical staff, he passed away in hospital. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

The man was white, around 5’7” tall and believed to be in his 60s. He was of slightly larger build with blue eyes, grey receding hair, a short to medium length grey beard and a grey/brown moustache.

He did not have any significant marks, scars or tattoos and was not wearing any jewellery. He was found with a pair of walking sticks.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Todd said: “This is an extremely sad set of circumstances, and we understand it will be difficult for a family member to find out their loved one has passed away.

“The man was not carrying ID, and unfortunately all our efforts to identify him so far have been unsuccessful.

“If you believe you know who this man is please contact 01905 331 211.”
