POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a suspected arson in Worcester.
At around 10.20pm on Tuesday night (October 14) a bike was taken from a parking space to the rear of Rose Avenue and set alight behind Unit C Unisex Hair salon.
The fire caused damage to the building and a gas main. A number of enquiries have been carried out and CCTV enquiries have identified two potential suspects.
PC Stephen Thomas said: “Fortunately no one was injured, but this had the potential to be extremely dangerous.
“We are working to establish the circumstances of the fire, and at this stage we do not believe there was a purposeful intention to endanger life, but it being treated as arson.
“We are still looking to identify the owner of the bike and would urge them to come forwards.
“We would urge anyone who was in the area, or who may have information to assist with our enquiries to please get in touch.”
