POLICE are investigating a potential hate crime against a teenage boy in Worcester city centre.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident which saw the teenager approached by two young women close to Barclay’s Bank on Church Street at around 7.30pm on Sunday May 4. They were verbally abusive and threw food at him.
Around 10 minutes later, he encountered the two young women again outside Spectrum Optica. They continued to be verbally abusive while chasing the boy and pushing two of his friends.
Police are treating the crime as a hate crime due to the abusive remarks that were made.
