EMERGENCY services were called to reports of a person being hit by a train in an incident on Cosgrove Close, Worcester, on Monday, writes Lydia Gee.
Six Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Services were called – two from Worcester, two from Malvern and one each from Droitwich and Pershore Fire Stations.
Alongside them was the incident command unit, the drone from Wyre Forest and the service’s urban search and rescue dog who arrived at the scene at 8.41pm.
Following a thorough search of the tracks, the incident was determined to be a false alarm, most likely caused by the strain striking a bird rather than a person.
No-one was harmed.
British transport police, ambulance and local police were also in attendance.
The incident was marked as pending closure after just over two hours at 10.52pm.
