Play time just got better at New College Worcester

PLAY time has just got better at New College Worcester.

The college for blind and visually impaired students has received £18,500 from the National Lottery Community Fund for the installation of new outdoor play equipment.

The new equipment will be designed to meet the unique needs of NCW’s students. The outdoor play area will include a variety of accessible, inclusive, and engaging play structures, encouraging students to develop vital skills such as mobility, coordination, and independence, all while enjoying the benefits of outdoor play.

College principal Rachel Perks said: “We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for their generous funding. This new outdoor play equipment will provide our students with invaluable opportunities to engage with the outdoors, foster independence, and enjoy vital physical activity in a supportive, inclusive environment.

“The contribution of the funding from the scheme helps us continue to enhance the facilities and experiences we offer to our students.”
