WORCESTER CATHEDRAL is set to host a commemorative concert in honour of VE Day, writes Maya Evans.
The concert, which takes place at 7pm on Saturday, May 3, will feature the Mercian Military Band, The Oakville Singers and the Worcester Cathedral Organ.
It will also include a programme of regimental marches and wartime songs, as well as music from both Elgar and Walton.
Along with honouring those who fought for freedom and highlighting the significance of VE and VJ Days, the concert will also be fundraising for the Worcestershire Soldier at the Commandery, an exciting project which aims to tell the stories of Worcestershire’s soldiers, past and present.
Tickets are £20 each – email: [email protected] to reserve them.
