FIVE King’s Worcester students are Oxbridge bound.
Off to Cambridge are Lola, James, Eric, Martha and Polly.
This takes the total number of offers received from both Oxford and Cambridge over the past four years to 25.
Acting head Dr Alison Oliver, Acting Head, said: “We are so proud of all our students who have worked incredibly hard to secure offers, and congratulate each of them on this outstanding achievement.
“The Oxbridge preparation programme we offer, run by head of Oxbridge applications, Dr McLaverty-Head, alongside the extensive support offered by our teachers, maximises their chances of achieving this exciting next step in their education.”
King’s Worcester prides itself on its student support structure for Oxbridge applications, which begins in the lower sixth form. Wider reading presentations are given by students to their peers via the sixth form academic society, which helps them develop their interest in their chosen subject areas.
The school also holds a dedicated Oxford and Cambridge preparation day in the summer term of their lower sixth year, coupled with one-to-one meetings with Dr McLaverty-Head. Throughout the autumn term, students benefit from further support in completing personal statements and additional forms, mock interview and entrance test practice, and a series of final preparation sessions.
