Hundreds of Santas to line up for Worcester hospice fun run

HUNDREDS of Santa Clauses are coming to town for a hospice’s fundraising fun run.

Organised by St Richard’s Hospice, the Santa Dash will take place at Worcester Woods Country Park on Sunday, December 15.

There is still time sign-up and take part in the event with hundreds of other joggers dressed as Santa.

Sofia Gunster, events and community fundraising lead, said: “We love our feel-good, festive fun-run and can’t wait to welcome our Santas for a jolly jog around the country park.

“The route is 2.5k but participants are very welcome to complete a second loop if they want a longer challenge.

“Like all our events, the Santa Dash raises vital funds for St Richard’s to continue its care for patients with incurable illnesses and to support their loved ones.

“Every penny raised in sponsorship by our super Santas will make a difference to the lives of people across our community.”

After completing the Santa Dash, participants will be rewarded with a bespoke medal and Christmas treat.

Registration for the event is from 9am and the dash starts at 10am.

This year’s Santa Dash is sponsored by Spa Decorators.

Director Gary Rogers said: “We’re delighted to sponsor the Santa Dash for the second year running.

“It’s always a great event which gets everyone in the Christmas spirit while raising valuable funds for an important cause.”

Attendees who have a Santa suit from a previous event are encouraged to re-use them. However, runners are welcome to dress in any festive attire they choose.
