A TEENAGE boy has been sentenced to 20 months in a young offenders institute after stealing cars and mobility scooters in Worcester.
The 15-year-old, from Worcester, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was convicted at Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday).
He was found guilty of: –
- Five counts of taking a car without the owner’s consent.
- Five counts of theft of the car keys from a dwelling.
- Five counts of taking a mobility scooter without the owner’s consent from a dwelling.
- Three counts of trespassing a premises with intent to steal.
- Three counts of theft of a mobility scooter.
- Two counts of attempting to steal a motor vehicle.
- Driving a vehicle without a licence or insurance
- One count of theft of bike from a dwelling.
- One count of theft from a dwelling.
- One count of taking of a motorbike without the owner’s consent.
- One count of attempting to steal a mobility scooter.
- One count of theft from a shop.
The boy had appeared at court on October 23, in connection with some of the offences, where he was given a youth rehabilitation order.
The order was revoked after he committed further offences on October 31, he was resentenced yesterday for all the offences resulting in a 20-month term in a young offenders’ institute.
