Crowds browse the rails at new St Richard's Hospice menswear shop

A MEN’S fashion pop-up shop has thrown open its doors to raise funds for a Worcester-based hospice.

St Richard’s Hospice welcomed crowds of customers to The Wardrobe – the charity’s first menswear shop – in Chapel Walk, Crowngate Shopping Centre, on Friday (November 1).

Shoppers browsed and bought from a range of quality clothing and accessories, including sportswear, casualwear, formalwear and more.

Dan Corns, commercial director at St Richard’s, said: “We were delighted to see so many customers and have great feedback on the quality and range of pre-loved items.

“Male customers said they liked coming into a shop dedicated just to men’s clothing as they didn’t always find what they were looking for in general charity shops. They felt more relaxed browsing in The Wardrobe.

“The shop showcases the amazing menswear donated to St Richard’s. We have new stock arriving each week, so there’s lots of choice and shoppers can always ask us if they are on the look-out for something special.”

The Wardrobe will be open until the end of January.

Proceeds raised by the shop will help St Richard’s continue to fund its free care to patients with an illness which cannot be cured, their families and bereaved people across Worcestershire.

Items can be donated by taking them in a bag labelled ‘menswear pop-up shop’ to any St Richard’s shop or warehouse during opening hours.

The hospice is also looking for volunteers to help in the shop with duties including customer service, preparing donations for sale, and serving on the till.
