Loved ones remembered in Worcester this Christmas

LOVED ones are being remembered in Worcester this Christmas.

A special memorial service for those who have died in the last year is being held at Worcester Crematorium and Cemetery on Thursday December 12.

Tickets are free, however numbers are limited to 105, so residents are being encouraged to apply for tickets as soon as they can.

Sian Redmond of Worcester City Council’s bereavement services said: “Christmas is a time of celebration, but if you have lost a loved one in recent months it can be difficult to face seasonal festivities without them.

“This memorial service will give people the chance to share the experience of grieving for a loved one and also celebrate that person’s life, in the company of others who have had a similar experience.”

The service, which is open to people of all faiths and none, starts at 6pm at the Astwood Road Crematorium. It will be conducted by civil celebrant Clare Smith, funeral celebrant Kate Lumley and Reverend Laura Handy, humanist celebrant Sarah Crabbe, Reverend Robert Farmer and Jatinderpal Singh Loyal of the Worcestershire Interfaith Forum.

After the service, light refreshments and mince pies will be available.
