Wedding proposal for one Worcester University graduate

IT WAS an extra special graduation day for one Worcester student who got engaged just moments before her ceremony.

Erin Boddice was about to graduate from her primary initial teacher education degree at Worcester University when her partner of three years asked her to marry him.

Erin said: “We were in the garden of the cathedral, overlooking the river, having family photos on the steps just by the cathedral door. Then Jacob got down on one knee and asked the question, I couldn’t believe it – I was very happy.”

Erin is already working in a school and returned to work the day after her graduation.

Erin’s fiancé, Jacob Thomas, finished his studies at Worcester two years ago and now works in the city.

He said: “I had planned it so Erin’s dad could be on hand to take photos, I half planned the moment, but the other half was luck.”

And after a small celebration that evening, it was back to work for Erin.

She added: “I couldn’t wait to show the children the photos and the ring when I got back to the school in the morning.”
