A BRITISH painter visited Worcester during her mission to raise the profile of charity shops around the country with an artistic flare.

Sophie Tea visited The Salvation Army in Worcester town centre, transforming an antique clock into a masterpiece.

During the day she dropped clues on her social media which led eager buyers to the shop to get an original piece of her work for a lower price.

Sophie is halfway through the first season of her series, Charity Shop Friday, where she visits charity shops across the country, buys an item, paints it that day, and returns it for the same price.

Her artwork has sold for up to £25,000 and her show ‘Send Nudes Live’ sold out at The London Palladium.

In Worcester, over 75 turned up to the charity shop to meet Sophie.

She said: “Worcester had an absolutely beautiful crowd with a plethora of great charity shops to choose from.

“It still blows my mind that people turn up all over the country, and I can’t thank you all enough for the support.”
