A LOCAL property maintenance company has teamed up with a charity and insurance broker to support a summer long scheme in Worcester.

Platform Property Care, The Hopmarket Charity and Sutcliffe and Co, are sponsoring a penguin sculpture for the Wild in Art scheme, the great Waddle of Worcester, brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice.

This summer’s event builds on two previous hospice trails in 2018 and 2021 where giraffe and elephant sculptures were displayed across the city, raising more than £700,000 for the hospice.

Taking place from Monday July, 22 for eight weeks, the trail will see 40 large penguins and 40 chicks brightening city streets.

The penguin, named Picasso, will be placed at The Hive in Worcester – the design is top secret until the trail launches and has been painted by Bromsgrove artist Marnie Maurri.

Marc Mayall, director of operations at Platform said: “We are really proud to be involved in this initiative.

“It is a great way to form lasting partnerships with other organisations within the city and of course to support the amazing work of St Richard’s Hospice.

“We would like to encourage as many visitors and residents to take part in this fun and free family trail.”
