Worcester Editorial 25th Apr, 2024   0

A FREE event celebrating European traditions and culture is coming to Worcester next month.

Eurofest will be held at The Guildhall between 11am and 3pm at the Guildhall on Saturday, May 11.

The event will see Bulgarian, Irish and Breton dance troupes perform on the day alongside Worcester’s Severn Voices Choir, who will sing in French, German, Icelandic, Italian and Ukrainian.

The ‘Our Taste of Portugal’ deli will provide traditional Portuguese food tasting at a pop-up cafe.

Lowesmoor-based Romanian restaurant, Bistro by Polonicul, will be showcasing the different ingredients it uses.

The day will also give people the opportunity to practice different languages.

Another co-host, the Worcestershire Polish Association, will provide heritage displays, popular Polish cakes, language games and the chance to create traditional floral head decorations.

The Word Association will be collating stories and poems for a forthcoming book and extra heritage displays will include Little Italy and a Displaced Persons Camp from the Worcester City Council’s archives.
