WORCESTER residents will have between £4.12 and £12.38 added onto their annual council tax from April after city councillors passed its 2024/25 budget on Tuesday evening.
Councillors signed off on a £12.7million budget, which will see those living in a Band D property paying £6.19 more next year.
Council chiefs said this was a small rise which would increase people’s expenses by around 1p a day.
As part of its budget, the authority has committed to investing up to £1.9million in community centres and other facilities as well as launching a new bike hire scheme.
Cash will also be used to support the completion of the new Kepax pedestrian bridge at Ghelvuelt Park and build a new 3G all-weather pitch at Perdiswell.
The budget was approved following a public consultation, which revealed the most popular of the five themes in the Worcester City Plan was ‘enhancing and sustaining the city for future generations.’
