Award-winning Worcester poet returning to city for special workshop

Worcester Editorial 29th Jan, 2024   0

AWARD-winning Worcester poet and author Chloe Hanks will be returning to the city for a special poetry workshop next month.

Hanks, who graduated from the University of Worcester in 2020, will hold her workshop at the Script Haven independent bookshop on Tuesday, February 13.

The workshop will focus on writing and will get under way at 4pm.

Hanks will be reading several of her own poems from 6pm.

Her work looks to provoke modern feminism and seeks to defend the woman’s right to be unpleasant.

In April 2021, Chloe’s debut anthology ‘May We All Be Artefacts’ won the V Press Poetry Prize.

She released a second anthology, I Call Upon the Witches, the following year.

It was while studying at the university where Chloe first became obsessed with poetry after Nellie Cole visited one of her lectures.

She is currently undertaking her PhD studies with York St John University researching creative responses to the archive.

Visit Script Haven’s Facebook page for more information.
