VOTERS in Warndon Parish South will be asked to choose from five candidates at next month’s Worcester City Council by-election.
The poll will be held on Thursday, October 19 to elect a new councillor following the passing of Coun Andy Roberts last month.
Janet Lippett will look to retain the seat for the Conservatives and will face Katie Collier of the Green Party, Sunil Desayrah of Labour, Reform UK Paul Hickling and Paul Jagger of the Liberal Democrats.
The city is currently run by a joint Labour and Green Party administration with the parties holding 13 and 10 seats respectively with the Conservative Party on eight and the Liberal Democrats on four.
Victory in the by-election will result in a short term of office with all of the seats on Worcester City Council up for election in May 2024.
A second by-election will be held to elect a county councillor for the area.
