A GREEN-FINGERED organiser of a Blackpole community garden has encouraged city residents to create their own havens of nature at the heart of their areas.
Yana Baystryuchenko shared pictures of her creation with the Observer in a bid to get others to follow her lead.
The floral delight forms part of the Colesborne Close community in Blackpole, a public garden on a patch of grass among the houses boasting some 800 flowers.
“I have put a lot of work and effort into creating a place where every Worcester resident can come and enjoy the view of the flowers,” Yana said.
“As far as I know, this is the only project of this kind in Worcester and I would like to support it and encourage other residents of the city to create such gardens.
“I’ve already received a lot of compliments from local people about this idea of making Worcester more beautiful.”
