CREATIVE artists from across Worcestershire have been urged to roll up, roll up and showcase work based on their favourite films for a blockbuster movie trail in the heart of Worcester.
Last September you may have noticed movie-inspired posters in shop windows all around the city centre.
This was part of the Worcester Film Festival who teamed up with mental health and creativity advocate Artists Clubhouse to create an art trail of amazing work leading up to the festival, with an array of artists creating magical works from a real rainbow of mediums and genres of film.
After the success of last year and the trail being seen by more than 25,000 people, this year the plans are even bigger and better.
A competition for local artists from all levels of experience to submit works based on their favourite movies is being launched so another exciting film trail is created across the city centre.
Spaces have also been reserved for local charities and organisations to get involved creating a really exciting mix of work.
Emily Johnson from Artists Clubhouse said: “I love helping connect people to creativity as I want it to inspire them to have a go themselves, art in all its forms really can help your overall well-being whether it’s films or paint, writing or performing.”
Kirstie Gregory from Worcester Film Festival said: “Film encompasses all art forms and the Worcester Film Festival are passionate about showcasing this.”
Planning is well underway and the competition brief for 2023 ‘Lights, Camera…Paint’ can be viewed online.
