Witness appeal following rape in Worcester

OFFICERS investigating a rape in Worcester are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area to come forward.

The incident took place between 11pm and midnight on Thursday, June 15 in Bank Street. Both the victim and the suspect were in the area of High Street in Worcester approximately 10 minutes prior to the incident occurring.

A 36-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of June 16 and has been released under investigation.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Ben Kings said: “Following the review of CCTV footage there are people passing through the area around the time of the incident that we are urging to come forward, they may have witnessed the incident/saw suspicious behaviour prior to the incident taking place.”
