A TEACHER at a Malvern primary school completed her first-ever London Marathon while raising money for a town-based charity.
Sue Hernandez-Cox, who works at Malvern Wells CE Primary School, tackled the world-famous challenge to raise funds for Arcos, the Association for Rehabilitation of Communication and Oral Skills, which has had its headquarters in the town for decades.
She said: “It was not only my first London Marathon, but the first marathon I’ve ever run, so I was really pleased to finish in 4 hours 29 minutes.
“It was an absolutely brilliant atmosphere and I really enjoyed it, despite having a knee injury that kept niggling at me.
“It was absolutely pouring down at the start, and we were all freezing cold, but once we started to get going, we soon warmed up.”
