LOCALS in Worcestershire will have a spring in their step when they learn about National Trust’s upcoming family events this May half term.
Families can make the most of the warmer weather and longer spring days at a whole host of events planned by National Trust across three of their venues in Worcestershire.
Visitors to Hanbury Hall and Gardens in Droitwich can explore the birds, bees and butterflies trail with nature inspired activities, experience a woodturning demonstration on May 27 and 28 and join garden tours to examine the medical properties of plants with knowledgeable guides on Wednesday and Saturday during the May half term.
Croome in Worcester will be looking for keen eyed explorers to venture around the Croome house and grounds in search of interesting details you may not normally stumble on when visiting.
An activity book available for a small fee will aid visitors on their search. Those interested in going to Croome are encouraged to keep an eye on their social media channels for activity updates. Normal admission applies.
The Firs Cottage, birthplace of English composer, Edward Elgar invites visitors to explore his childhood garden to turn their hand at composition using a variety of large musical instruments in the South Garden.
Families can also take a selfie with Elgar’s life size statue, which overlooks the Malvern Hills, allowing Elgar to experience what he once loved, having his photograph taken. The Firs is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 11am to 5pm over the May half term.
Other activities across the National Trust venues include pond dipping, bug hunting, scavenger hunts, creative activities and storytelling sessions in picturesque gardens.
