AN EGG-CITING collection in aid of Worcester Foodbank has been launched by Worcestershire County Cricket Club.
The New Road club is calling on its members, supporters, and the local community to donate chocolate eggs, which will be transported to Worcester Foodbank’s Lowesmoor location for distribution as part of its weekly food parcels.
Worcester Foodbank has been serving the local community for a number of years and over the past 12 months have fed more than 15,000 people, including 40 per cent children, and provided more than 130 tonnes of food, which translates to 190,000 meals.
Grahame Lucas, manager of Worcester Foodbank said: “We are absolutely delighted with the support and encouragement offered by the club and their egg collection will be an amazing addition to the way in which we support families in crisis in our community, helping us to turn frowns upside down”
To participate, simply drop off your donated chocolate eggs at the New Road reception weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm from Monday to Friday by April 3.
